American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) is privileged to be hosting the Secretary of State's 2010 International Women of Courage Awardees, to be held the week of March 8th, 2010 in Washington DC.

AWIU has presented awards to women who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in advocating human rights. Award-winners are nominated by our embassies around the world and are selected for their work in transforming their societies by tackling nearly insurmountable challenges.
